Day 1 (Sunday the 29th of September) was spent driving from Winnipeg to Fargo...
We left 8 hours early! Mostly due to Robyn having potential troubles with border crossing into America...
(Apparently dating an American, traveling with no return ticket, a guitar and 2 backpacks looks oddly suspicious to US Border Patrol???? - Go figure...)
Well, in any case, Robyn hasn't crossed into America for 8 years since she was "stamped" with the illegal alien stamp - it was mildly stressful prepping for the border crossing!
We had her return ticket printed off, her enrollment as a full-time University student printed off, confirmation of residency in Canada, etc. etc....
Hank thought we were nuts! He was like: We are going to cross just fine - what are you guys worried about? Well, Robyn explained to him the extent of her prior "conviction" - and how everything had to be "just perfect" or she wouldn't get across...
At the border??? "Welcome to America, enjoy your stay, have fun!!" ALWAYS travel with Hank - as we like to say, "he has a horse-shoe up his ----…….." Last time she tried to cross, she was in "border custody" for 8 hours! Finger printed, the whole bit...
So, we got to the airport with 4 hours to kill... Once on the airplane, both Robyn and I were suffering deeply! I had my restless leg syndrome BAD, and Robyn had stomach and back aches. Great traveling companions! a 3.5 hour flight later - we finally landed at 11:30 pm Winnipeg time - 9:30 pm Phoenix time - after some SERIOUS, serious turbulence.. We were literally flying through a thunder and lightning storm. Perfect!
A neighbour at the "Fountain of the Sun" complex we are staying at here in Phoenix picked us up, and once we got home, we still had to go shopping! We bought juicing supplies for the next day, and once back home, ended up eating outside around midnight - right out of the side of a half watermelon each! Not quite a "juice" - but at nearly 1am, 14 hours after leaving Winnipeg - we were just DONE....
We both slept wonderfully, and woke up this morning ready to go! Day 2 started at 7:30 am - and we are going strong! Temperature is muy caliente, and the skies are clear and perfect. We plan on going to the salt water pool later this afternoon, and starting our daily massage trade after that. (Shirley does traditional massage, and Robyn does shiatsu... )
We found mostly organic ingredients last night - except for the watermelon, the pineapple, and the oranges. Organic celery for $2 a huge bunch! Welcome to America...:)
Talk to you all tomorrow! Thanks for checking in... Shirl and Robyn
(Oh, we took body measurements today as well ~ Projected our goals for the cleanse regarding weight loss and inches lost. Health goals we are already clear on - will discuss more about that tomorrow...
